A manufacturing facility has metal staircases that are located outside. During winter months, precipitation will freeze to the staircase, form ice, and create a very dangerous situation for employees that must use the staircase. Several lost time accidents had occurred on the staircase during winter months.
SG Integrations designed, engineered and installed a mineral insulated heating cable system that allows the plant to keep the metal stairs warm and prevent the formation of ice on the staircase. The staircase is safe for employees to use during the winter months.
